Holi

Holi is one of the major festival in India. Even though it celebrated in most parts of the country, the most celebrated Holi is that of the Braj region, in locations connected to the Lord Krishna: Mathura, Vrindavan, Nandagaon, and Barsana. These places have become tourist destinations during the festive season of Holi, which lasts here up to sixteen days.

Chennakesava Temple on the banks of the Yagachi River in Belur, an early capital of the Hoysala Empire. Chennakesava literally means “handsome Kesava” and is a form of Hindu God Vishnu. Bangles are part of traditional Indian jewelry. They are usually worn in pairs by women, one or more on each arm. Most Indian women prefer wearing either gold or glass bangles or combination of both. Inexpensive bangles made from plastic are slowly replacing those made by glass, but the ones made of glass are still preferred at traditional occasions such as marriages and on festivals.

The sari consists of a five to six meters (in extreme cases up to nine feet) long, rectangular cloth which one end is often a wide design of a different color has on. On the upper body is usually wears a short solid blouse called Choli (f., चोली, coli), which is buttoned up the front.There are many ways to wear a sari.

Dharavi is a slum in Mumbai which spread over an area of 175 hectares, or 0.67 square miles with population over 1 million people. Dharavi is one of the largest slums in the world. The area of present-day Dharavi was predominantly mangrove swamp before the late 19th century, inhabited by Koli fishermen.
