The Bhimbetka rock shelters are an archaeological World Heritage site located in Raisen District in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The Bhimbetka shelters exhibit the earliest traces of human life in India; a number of analyses suggest that at least some of these shelters were inhabited by man for in excess of 100,000 years.

The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, nicknamed the “Toy Train”, is a 2 ft (610 mm) narrow gauge railway from New Jalpaiguri to Darjeeling in West Bengal, run by the Indian Railways.The railroad line basically follows Hill Cart Road which is partially the same as National Highway 55. Usually, the track is simply on the road side. In case of landslides both track and road might be affected.

It is a major pilgrimage site in South India and is one of the 108 Vaishnava Divyadesams. According to the legend, this is where Lord Narasimha blessed Prahlada and killed the demon Hiranyakashipu.

The highly revered monastery is 300 years old. The Tsomoriri Lake in front of it is also held in reverence, and considered equally sacred by the local people.

Mullayanagiri is the tallest mountain in Karnataka. Its 1930m high and is situated in Chickamagalur district. There is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva atop the mountain. A cave and a Nandi statue are at walkable distance from the temple. The mountain belongs to the Bababudangiri hill range, It is a trekkers paradise and often clubbed with Bababudangiri for trekking.

At its foot is the Temple of Thiru-avinan-kudi, one of the Arupadaiveedu.The Temple is situated upon the higher of the two hills of Palani, known as the Sivagiri. Traditionally, access to it was by the main staircase cut into the hill-side or by the yanai-padhai or elephant’s path, used by the ceremonial elephants.

There are two kinds of prayer flags: horizontal ones, called lung ta (meaning “Wind Horse”) in Tibetan, and the vertical Darchor. Dar translates as “to increase life, fortune, health and wealth”, and Cho translates as “all sentient beings”

Sathuragiri Hills is situated 10 km from Watrap (Vathirairuppu) near Srivilliputhur. The name Sathuragiri came from Chathur (4) Veda (Vedas) Giri (Hill), where all the four Vedas met and formed the hill. Another meaning is that the whole mountain is in square (Chathuram) in shape so the name Chathuragiri. Sathuragiri is the Abode of God. It is otherwise also called as Mahalingam Hill.

The Tawang Monastery was founded near the small town of the same name in the northwestern part of Arunachal Pradesh, India by Merak Lama Lodre Gyatso in 1680-1681 in accordance with the wishes of the 5th Dalai Lama. The monastery belongs to the Gelugpa school and has a religious association with Drepung Monastery in Lhasa, which continued during the period of British rule.

Rajmachi is a small village in the rugged mountains of Sahyadri in Mharashtra. There are two forts which were built by Shivaji Emperor during 17th century. It is a famous spot for trekking. It is about 15 km treking distance from Lonavla. Rajmachi fort is a strategic fort overlooking Borghat(ghat between Mumbai and Pune) which was a historical trade route.
