Nagda is an ancient city in Rajasthan near udaipur. It is famous for its temple ruins from the 10th Century. Nagda was once the capital of the kingdom of Mewar and was destroyed by Muslim invaders of the Mughal dynasty almost complete. What remains are the 2 in the 10th Century built shrines Sas-Bahu.
Ranakpur is a village located in Pali district of Rajasthan widely known for its marble Jain temple, and for a much older Sun Temple which lies opposite the former. The temple, with its distinctive domes, shikhara, turrets and cupolas rises majestically from the slope of a hill. Over 1444 marble pillars, carved in exquisite detail, support the temple. The pillars are all differently carved and no two pillars are the same.
